Karnan began streaming on Prime Video from. It was theatrically released on 9 April 2021. Release Shooting of the film took place in the suburbs of Thoothukudi district from 2019 and was completed on December 2020 although production was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The people of the village belong to a marginalised community that has been oppressed for decades, mainly by the dominant caste groups in the region aided by the government officials and the police who intend to keep them suppressed under their shoes.
Story The story portrays, a fearless village youth, must fight for the rights of the people of his village. This is Santhosh's second collaboration with Mari and his third venture with Dhanush after Kodi and Vada Chennai. Karnan will have music by Santhosh Narayanan.
